When GoodRx Headquarters grew from a start-up to a significant powerhouse in Los Angeles’ world of fast-growing tech, they questioned how they could transition from a company known for its sunny yellow logo to a purpose-driven workplace that embodies their evolving mission. The 76,000-square-foot space design uses urban planning strategies to support their growing population in a strategic workplace.

The urban moves scale the immense warehouse spaces with intimate moments through the activation of episodic social programs. The space is devised by a circulation “loop” to amplify experiential pathways, identify moments for local upcycled materials, and create a palette that feels raw, industrial, and warm to marry tactility with the richness of this experience.

The design used an inclusive process where focus and advocacy groups helped to shape the future workplace.

The project provides an array of community-centered spaces that guide the identity of the tech company’s brand and space. Atypical programs were developed to also reduce density and embrace an element of surprise – a speakeasy, all hands community room, library, juice and coffee bar, a doctor’s room, and a meditation and yoga facility.

Branded walls, social programming, and video games are eschewed for amenities that celebrate the act of coming together and enriching a sense of community.

We prioritized physical connection to nature by opening the building to the surrounding gardens and adding skylights. Furthermore, rooftop HVAC has UVC equipment attached to sanitize incoming air, cleaning 99.9% of harmful bacteria.

The project targeted 75% local sourcing with all furniture and ultimately was able to source 98% of all items within a 30-mile radius. In response to COVID impacts on national and international sourcing, we employed local furniture designers and fabricators to realize the project weeks ahead of schedule..
